How automatic categorization works

Every transaction is assigned a category so your budgets, reports and insights stay accurate — with as little manual work as possible.

A tiered approach

Fullness categorizes in layers, from fastest and most certain to most flexible:

1. Your rules — any merchant rules you've created always win.
2. Merchant patterns — known merchants are matched instantly.
3. History — how you've categorized similar transactions before.
4. AI — for anything new or ambiguous, an AI model suggests the best category.

Confidence & Needs Review

When the system is confident, the category is applied automatically. When confidence is low, the transaction is placed in Needs Review (a temporary holding spot) so you can confirm it. Confirming teaches Fullness for next time.

The more you confirm and correct, the smarter categorization gets for your specific spending.
