Split payments & multi-currency FX
Handle multi-currency payments, manual FX rates and split transactions across categories.
Split payments & multi-currency FX
Fullness handles payments that involve more than one currency or that need to be split across categories, accounts or budgets.
Split a payment by currency
- When creating or editing an expense, transfer, bill payment or debt payment, enable the multi-currency option.
- Choose the payment account and its currency. The amount you enter is in the account currency.
- Fullness fetches the live FX rate or lets you enter a manual rate if you locked one with your provider.
- Confirm — the ledger posts in both the account currency and your workspace base currency.
FX rate sources
FX rates come from the ledger’s FX rate book, which is kept up to date by an hourly sync. Rates can be direct or inverse depending on the currency pair. The app shows the rate provenance and timestamp so you can audit the conversion.
Split across categories or budgets
You can split a single transaction across multiple categories or budget envelopes. This is useful for a shopping trip that includes groceries, household and personal items, or for an invoice that covers several projects.
Where to review
See FX gains/losses and split details in the transaction detail panel, Accounting → FX, and the Journal entries behind each post.
